Gateway Baptist Church has been serving the Lord in Lake City for the past 25 years. Organized in March of 1999, Gateway has become a church family large enough to provide the kinds of quality ministries that are so needed by those in our community seeking a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Those who are striving to grow in the Lord will discover many opportunities to journey into that next step of their relationship with Christ and to exercise their souls for His glory. Our church is multi-generational and enjoys a dynamic mix of new, growing and mature followers of Christ.
Gateway services include Sunday morning worship and Wednesday evening fellowship meals, discipleship studies, and prayer gatherings. A strong feature of our church is our youth and children’s ministries. Blessed with ample property and facilities (14 acres of land and over 14,000 square feet of ministry space including worship, educational, multi-purpose, nursery, kitchen and office areas) to accomplish our mission and ministries in Lake City and beyond. Gateway is a Christ-centered, Biblically grounded, evangelistic, joyful and grateful congregation.
We are a family of believers who has a heart to see their community impacted by the love of Jesus. We believe our mission is to reach people with the love of Christ, and to see them living out their purpose. Our worship is contemporary, casual, biblically grounded, and Spirit empowered.
At Gateway we try to reflect Christ in every way. We strive to love and serve like Jesus, Matthew 11:28 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened.”. Our mission as a church is to always have an open loving door for any that seek refuge through Jesus Christ.
We are On Mission for Christ to bring the Gospel to the world, disciple believers in spiritual growth, and empower families to stand firm in the truth of Scripture.

Pastor Alex is very blessed to have been born and raised in Gods chosen land of Texas and gave his life to the LORD as a Junior in high school and felt the LORD calling him to ministry since he was 17. He got his Bachelors of Art in Communication Studies at Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX and then went on to receive his Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth Texas. During that time he served as an intern at Second Baptist Houston’s North Campus, and again at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. Perhaps more importantly he met his wife Brianna while at seminary as she was working on a Bachelor Degree in Missions. They married in October of 2022, and the LORD blessed them with a beautiful daughter Esther on New Years Eve 2023. He was called to Gateway after completing his degree in January of 2025.
In his free time you can find him spending time with his family, reading a good book, playing any sport with a ball, or rooting for one of his favorite teams the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars or Chelsea F.C.
Brooke has lived in Lake City for most of her life with her parents and two siblings. Brooke loves to spend time with her family, whether it’s walking nature trails, playing board games at home, or exploring new places with their two adorable miniature schnauzers. She also loves to draw and is a big reader.
